6D5N LAKE TOBA – BOHOROK TOUR

Day 1 : Medan – Parapat – Samosir Island
Meet and greet at the airport. Proceed to Parapat – famous mountain and lake resort on the east shore of the immense volcanic Lake Toba, is about 175 km from Medan. En route, first hour pass by several small towns and then followed by vast view of rubber, oil palm, cacao plantations, paddy terraces, etc. Arrive in Parapat, leave for Samosir, a huge lovely island in the middle of Lake Toba, in 45 minutes ferry ride. Check in hotel.

Day 2 : Samosir Island Tour
After breakfast, start on Samosir Island Tour by boat. Visit the Tomb of King Sidabutar and Batak Toba Village at Tomok. Then to Ambarita, a traditional village with ancient megalithic furniture in front of the traditional house and also visit the Village of Simanindo to watch folkdance performance of Batak Toba people. Afternoon return to hotel.

Day 3 : Samosir Island – Brastagi
After breakfast depart for Brastagi via the Ring Road of Lake Toba. En route pass by pine tree plantation, the magnificent scenery of Lake Toba, fertile vegetable and fruit farms. Visit the ancient King’s Palace of Simalungun at Pematang Purba. Proceed to the slender Sipiso-piso Waterfall which drops into Lake Toba from hundred meter height. Arrive in Brastagi, a refreshing mountain resort dominated by two active volcanoes. Visit the fruit market and the traditional Batak Karo Village – Peceran. Then check in hotel.

Day 4 : Brastagi – Medan – Bohorok
Depart for Bohorok via Medan in 5 hour drive. First, leave Brastagi for Medan via some part of the lush tropical rain forest of Sumatera in two-hour time. Arrive in Medan, after a short rest, continue journey to Bohorok via some small towns and drive through vast view of rubber, oil palm plantations, and some countryside landscape. The road is cill bad in some places. Arrive in Bohorok, check in hotel.

Day 5 : Bohorok – Medan
Start trekking to see Orangutan. First walk along the riverbank to the crossing point and cross the river by small canoe to the Orangutan rehabilitation center. Hike up the hill through the rain forest to see the activities of those illegally captured and young Orangutans which are trained to return to their natural habitat (trekking is required).
After the visit, walk back to your assembling point. Afternoon return to Medan, the capital city of North Sumatra province. Check in hotel for overnight.

Day 6 : Departure
Free at own activities until the time to be transferred to airport for departure.
